Smashing Pumpkins to Reunite – Not Including D’Arcy Wretzky

Smashing Pumpkins has announced a new tour this summer, including vocalist Billy Corgan, guitarist James Iha and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. It will be the first tour the band has scheduled since 2000, and the band’s original bassist will not be joining the trio. The band will be playing hits from their early and most successful albums like, Gish, Siamese Dreams, Adore, and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.

Corgan has been repeatedly reporting that Wretzky has been invited to participate in shows with the band before, and she has been declining the offers. However, a recent interview with Alternative Nation revealed Wretzky claiming that Corgan has not actually invited the bassist to play with the band.

“He says that he’s invited me to come out and play for all of these things, which is a complete lie,” Wretzky said about Corgan in her interview with Alternative Nation. “He’s never invited me to anything.”

The alternative rock band will be beginning their tour in mid-July in Arizona, and end in early September. They will be in 29 different states, including two in Canada.
