The newest music festival took over downtown El Paso. In what was a busy weekend in the Sun City with multiple festivals, two gargantuan concerts at a sold out Sun Bowl, and the El Paso Comic Con; Sol Summit shined mixing legendary headliners and homegrown talent alongside vendors and art displays.
The inaugural iteration of Sol Summit featured 20 acts from around the globe and was headlined by Bomba Estéreo and Flaming Lips. With two stages, one parallel to and the other facing the iconic “lagartos” or the statue of alligators in San Jacinto Plaza.
The alligators are an homage to live alligators that once lived in San Jacinto Plaza, giving the central and historic park in El Paso the nickname, “Plaza de los Lagartos”. It was around this statue where local vendors and artists set up with the multitude of acts performing in their backdrop.
The lineup featured a vast array of genres as well and had crowds mixing their time headbanging, swaying, dancing to cumbias, jumping up and down, and overall nonstop movement.
The photo gallery is organized by day in order of appearance. For more coverage and information on the festival, follow Sol Summit on Instagram or visit solsummitmusic.com.
