The Marías is an LA-based band that formed in 2016, by Josh Conway and María herself.
Conway is considered the lead producer and architect to the María’s overall sound, according to their Facebook page.

Thanks to the relationship that rose between Conway and María, the band was born.

The Marías’ main focus, according to the band, is to develop an auditory and visual feeling with their audience.

The band draws a lot of inspiration from films by Pedro Almodóvar.

The Marías are getting ready to release the follow-up from their first EP, Superclean Vol. I.

María is Puerto-Rican born, but raised in Atlanta, Ga. Her father was the one who introduced her to music.

Her Puerto Rican roots are what inspire María’s music and brought her to write lyrics in Spanish.

The other band members are not fluent in Spanish, but that does not keep them from connecting with each other.

The Marías, in their Facebook Page, describe themselves as “a dream from another era.”
