Marco Antonio Solís returned to El Paso on Saturday, August 30th, filling the Don Haskins Center with romance, nostalgia, and timeless hits as part of his “Más Cerca De Ti” Tour. The Mexican singer-songwriter from Michoacan brought his signature warmth to the Sun City.
The night began with a cinematic video projected across the screens where “El Buki” thanked fans for supporting him through nearly five decades of music. The short film felt like a life series, revisiting his journey from his humble beginnings to the international stages that have defined his legendary career.

Solís then burst out on a striking Art Deco–inspired stage set with a full orchestra, choruses, dancers, bursts of confetti, and even fireworks. He kicked off the night with a classic banger, “Tu Cárcel”, instantly igniting the crowd. At one point as he sang “Tu Cárcel”, he switched the lyrics to: “Que aquí en El Paso se sabe querer,” drawing a roar from the crowd.
Following up with another Los Bukis’ favorite as the second song of the night, Solís reminded his original fans of the legendary roots that shaped his career, hinting that the performance would not only include his own repertoire but also a few Los Bukis’ blasts from the past.
Between songs, he spoke affectionately about El Paso, noting that he has written music while in the city and always feels at home performing there. He gave shout-outs to his contemporaries, the cincuentones, and offered words to the jóvenes enamorados.
The audience reflected the wide reach of his music, from mothers and daughters to couples young and old, and fans of all ages singing along to every lyric from across decades. The night carried a magical sense of memories, family union, and romance.
The “Más Cerca De Ti” Tour continues across North America through the fall, reinforcing Marco Antonio Solís’ legacy as one of music’s most beloved voices—still shining nearly 50 years strong.
