Indie rocker, Mac DeMarco announced that he is launching his own record label, “Mac’s Record Label,” the name for which he credits friend and fellow musician Jen Twynn Payne, a member of the Canadian band the Courtneys.
“Hi, it’s Mac. We’re starting a record label; it’s called ‘Mac’s Record Label.’ My friend Jen who plays drums in The Courtneys gave me the name. Also there are more shows.“
Along with the news of the record label, DeMarco announced his first ever solo tour which will include some of the largest U.S. venues he’s ever played at.
Mac has partnered with PLUS1 for his upcoming EU and solo tours. $1 from every ticket sale will go to support local Girls Rock Camps and their work empowering girls, trans and gender-diverse young people through music education and mentorship.
