Blaenavon released a new track, “Catatonic Skinbag,” from their forthcoming album Everything That Makes You Happy. The album will be out via Canvasback Music and was produced by Catherine Marks who’s worked with Foals, St. Vincent, and Wolf Alice.
Ben Gregory of the band said about the song, “the song is about isolation. Cutting oneself off from the world to engage in fruitless sensual pleasures and pretending everything is ok. Watching fucking Netflix and drinking a bottle of wine when you should probably instead be in therapy. But there’s a way out. Art, friendship, love. You don’t have to be a catatonic skinbag.”

Blaenavon had been scheduled to tour the U.S. with the Wombats but had to cancel those dates after Gregory was hospitalized towards the end of last December. In a letter through Instagram, they announced that Gregory had a breakdown and also shared the news of the upcoming album’s title.
The album release date along with U.S. tour dates are expected later this year, and the band ends a string of dates in the UK with the Wombats this week and move on to Ireland after.
