dBpm announced that they will be releasing Chicago 2017, Daniel Johnston’s final performance in Chicago on vinyl, a live show at the Vic Theatre in 2017 as a session with Tweedy (Jeff and Spencer Tweedy, James Elkington, Liam Kazar, and Darin Gray.
To preview the record, they released Johnston’s hit “Worried Shoes” live at the Vic Theatre.
Chicago 2017 was recorded by Tom Schick and will be available at the Wilco Store and indie retailers. The release will be limited to 2000black, blue, and white splatter vinyl-only copies.
Proceeds from this release will be for Hi, How Are You Project (HHAY), the non-profit started with the support of Daniel and his family. The nonprofit aims to start conversations around mental health issues by funding and creating thoughtful media content, projects, and events.

Ahead of the record’s release, HHAY will host their annual benefit for the third consecutive year on January 22nd at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, TX. The Hi, How Are You concert features Cage The Elephant, White Denim, Tunde Adebimpe, plus more special guests.
