The 20-year-old corridos tumbados singer and songwriter Xavi released his debut album NEXT under Interscope Records on Friday, October 11, 2024. NEXT includes his well-known songs such as “La Diabla,” “Una Semana,” “Corazón de Piedra,” “Modo DND” feat. Tony Aguirre, and “Poco a Poco” feat. Los Dareyes De La Sierra, along with seven additional new tracks.
Xavi, el cantautor de corridos tumbados de 20 años, estrenó su álbum debut NEXT bajo Interscope Records, el viernes 11 de octubre del 2024. NEXT incluye sus ya reconocidos éxitos como “La Diabla”, “Una Semana”, “Corazón de Piedra”, “Modo DND” con Tony Aguirre y “Poco a Poco” con Los Dareyes De La Sierra, junto con siete nuevas canciones adicionales.
Dedicated to his biggest musical influence, his grandfather, the Phoenix, AZ native Xavi (Joshua Xavier Gutiérrez), represents his Mexican American culture by mixing the genre styles he grew up with, such as Regional Mexican, Pop Latino, and R&B. Xavi also mentioned in his Spotify Q&A clips before the album release that the title NEXT symbolizes different things, such as the start of a new era or the next woman. The themes of heartbreak but thriving through hard work can be heard throughout the album. The music video for “Flores,” one of his few romantic songs, was the first to be released along with the album’s announcement. The title track, “NEXT,” was the last tease release, with the lyrics coming in full circle of growth from puppy love to overcoming betrayal.

Xavi también menciono en los videoclips en Spotify del Q&A antes del estreno del álbum que el título NEXT simboliza diferentes cosas, como el inicio de una nueva era o la próxima mujer. Los temas de desamor pero superandose por medio del trabajo duro, se pueden escuchar a través del álbum. El video musical de “Flores“, una de sus pocas canciones románticas, fue el primero en estrenarse al mismo tiempo en que se anunció el álbum. La canción titular “NEXT” fue la última canción revelada antes de su estreno, con la letra cerrando el ciclo de crecer de un amor joven a superar una traición.
Xavi started 2024 strong by maintaining “La Diabla” at #1 for three consecutive weeks in Spotify’s Global 200 Chart—making it the longest-running #1 Latin solo song in global Spotify chart history. Simultaneously, the song was at #1 in Mexico’s radio charts for 13 weeks and in the Billboard Top 100 for six consecutive weeks. Following his success, Xavi toured in 26 shows in the USA, Mexico City, and Guadalajara, selling over 45,000 tickets.
Xavi comenzó duro el 2024 al mantener “La Diabla” en el puesto #1 por tres semanas consecutivas en la lista Global 200 de Spotify—convirtiéndose en la canción solista del genero Latino con mayor tiempo en el puesto número #1 en la historia de Spotify. Simultáneamente, fue la canción #1 en las listas de radio mexicanas por 13 semanas y en el Billboard Top 100 por mas de seis semanas consecutivas. Después de sus logros, Xavi estuvo de gira presentandose para 26 conciertos en los EE. UU., Ciudad de México y Guadalajara, vendiendo más de 45,000 entradas.
Xavi has seven 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards nominations under his belt, which are: New Artist of the Year, Global 200 Latin Artist of the Year, Hot Latin Song of the Year, Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year (Male,) Sales Song of the Year, Streaming Song of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year. The 31st Annual Billboard Latin Music Awards will air on Sunday, October 20th, at 9:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) live from Miami via Telemundo. It can also be watched on the cable channel of Universo, on the streaming platform Peacock, in the Telemundo app, and on Telemundo International.
Xavi tiene siete nominaciones a los Premios Billboard de la Música Latina 2024 a su nombre, los cuales son: Artista Debut del Año, Global 200 Artista Latino del Año, “Hot Latin Song” Canción del Año, “Hot Latin Songs” Artista del Año (Masculino), Canción del Año en Ventas, Canción del Año en Streaming y Compositor del Año. La 31a edición anual de los Premios Billboard de la Música Latina se transmitirán el domingo 20 de octubre a las 9:00 p.m. (hora del este) en vivo desde Miami por Telemundo.
