Sun June Share New Song and Video

The Austin indie pop band, Sun June, shared a new song and video from their upcoming debut album, Years, which will be out June 1, on Keeled Scales. This is the second song they share from the album – “Young” is available to stream now.

The five-piece originated in 2017, with Laura Colwell and Stephen Salisbury, getting collaborations for their first demo from Dan Duszynski from Cross Record and Loma, as well as Will Patterson from Sleep Goods. The line up later solidified with guitarist Michael Bain, drummer Sarah Schultz, and bassist Justin Harris.

The album is said to be a we’ve-been-broken-up-a-long-time type of record. “It explores how loss—of friends, family members, and partners—evolves over time,” said a press release. “But its ten songs aren’t weighed down or overly serious. Layered vocals and warm guitar lines float over simple structures, and no sound is overly polished or processed.”
