The British duo released their new track, “Ava,” from upcoming album, I’m All Ears, which will be released June 29 via Transgressive Records.
“Ava” is the fourth track from what will be the group’s second album. “Falling Into Me” and “It’s Just Not Me” are available to stream now. The new track addresses matters of mental health, struggle, and moments of clarity.
“The realization as you get older that some things are more complicated, and from the outside looking at a person you can’t always see how difficult some problems are to solve,” said vocalist Jenny Hollingworth.
Furthermore, the new record is said to include loops, Logic, outrageous 80s drum solos, as well as production from David Wrench–who has also produced for The xx, Frank Ocean, and Caribou–, SOPHIE, and Faris Badwan.
According to a press release, the album, the band say, is “a portrait of their lives over the past two years, as they have grown as musicians, but also as young women, finding their way through new territories, navigating friendships, romantic relationships, mental health, the ever-restless presence of technology. It draws on their love of PC Music, Frank Ocean, the record collections of their parents, ringtones, train journeys, and vintage synths.”
“We wanted to have the full range of everything we’re interested in, that represents who we are as people, and musically, on the record,” said multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Rosa Walton.
Their tour through North America will start by the end of August.
