The Japanese four-piece, CHAI, announced that they are back with their sophomore album, PUNK. The album will be out March 15th via Burger Records. CHAI have also released the lead single, “Fashionista.”

Addressing the title of the album, the band said “’PUNK’ for us, of course, is not the genre of music. ‘PUNK’ to us is to overturn the worn-out values associated with ‘kawaii’ or ‘cute’ created up to this point. ‘PUNK’ is a word that expresses a strong sense of self. To be yourself more, to become the person you truly want to be, to believe in yourself in every instance!”
The band will start a string of tour dates throughout the U.S. days after the album’s release, at SXSW .
