Carlos Vives just delivered the perfect way to celebrate the end of Latinx Heritage Month with the latest iteration of NPR Tiny Desk (Home) series. The Colombian superstar performed a 20 minute set visiting four different songs from all over his discography.
NPR Latin Alt Host, Felix Contreras said about the set, “we planned a special week of video concerts [on NPR] to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month. I tried to think of many styles, genres and experiences that could celebrate the cultures of more than 20 Latin American countries. Carlos Vives, is an icon throughout Latin America, and his new album Cumbiana is a reminder of how important he is to the history of Latin Music.”
Vives also just received the Hall of Fame award from the Latin Billboard Music Awards. You can also see El Mundo Perdido de Cumbiana, a documentary about his home country and the birth of Cumbia, on Amazon Prime Video.
