LUMP, the dynamic duo of Laura Marling and Mike Lindsay, are a little over a week away from the release of their album release. Today they released a new track and its accompanying video, “Late to the Flight.”
This music video, as well as the first one put out for the LUMP album, “Curse of the Contemporary” was also done by Esteban Diacono.
Marling and Lindsay met in late 2016 while opening for Neil Young. The encounter was kismet as LUMP was created. The duo are now making tracks that can only be described as hypnotic lulls that calm you down and make you want to dance.
Their music, Marling says, is inspired by early-20th-century Surrealism and the absurdist poetry of Edward Lear and Ivor Cutler.
The duo also performed “Curse of the Contemporary” last night on Later…With Jools Holland.
